0:53 this aspect of guilt and shame, like so many people feeling so ashamed of

0:59 themselves because of their poor choices or because of their past and all these things.

1:03 So what are some practical ways that you can share they can hold up

1:08 those seasons of their life. Yeah, hold onto the scripture that we are

1:12 a new creation in creditis right. You know, the past. You can't

1:18 change yesterday. There's no redo. I can't go back in and change anything

1:22 that happened yesterday, and tomorrow has its own set of worries. You know,

1:27 we call today the present moment, right it's a present it to get

1:32 And so rather than focusing on yesterday's because it's every day, I fail.

1:37 Every day. I make a mistake every day, you know, there's shortcomings,

1:41 whether it's in my thought process, or whether it's in my actions or

1:44 my behaviors or maybe the words that I speak. I'm not perfect, none

1:48 of us are, and so we will slip up, We will make mistakes.

1:52 Now it varies by degree. I'm not like slipping up and you know,

1:55 running off and doing a drive by or selling drugs on accident, but

1:59 you know, it might it might be, you know, something small.

2:01 But I don't bring that up, right because the price was paid once and

2:07 for all by the death, burial, resurrection of Jesus Christ, and so

2:10 um, I don't allow that. I don't allow that to dictate my actions

2:16 today. So I wake up in this present moment, which is a gift,

2:20 and I do my absolute best that I can do today. And when

2:23 you take that focus and focus on, you know, living a life that

2:27 brings glory and honor to God today, right then that was a pretty good

2:31 day. So now tomorrow I don't have to worry about yesterday because I did

2:36 my absolute best, So I'm going to focus on today. A lot of

2:38 people get wrapped up with, you know, their past actions there yesterdays,

2:44 and unfortunately you can't change any of those, and people will bring up your

2:47 past. People will will will bring up, you know, some of the

2:51 mistakes or the failures that you did. But you don't live there anymore.

2:55 In Christ, you are new. You've been born again, brand new every

3:00 day. That's absolutely true. I was reminded of I think it's there in

3:05 Joshua chapter two, uh. It talks verse fifteen. It talks about the

3:10 Rehab right she was a prostitute. When I was reading it, something that

3:15 caught my attention that Rehab is a prostitute and she is the one who saves

3:21 the spice where the children of Israel are about to enter the Promised Land.

3:24 And because she saves the spice, she's she and her entire family is actually

3:31 saved when the children of Israel enter the Promised Land. And what really caught

3:36 my attention is about verse fifteen, which says she was able to save the

3:39 spice because her house was adjacent to the city wall. So as I was

3:45 praying and meditating and studying about this part, I was reminded of how,

3:50 um, you know, a house in a city wall is like the city

3:53 wall will be in the outskirts of the city, right, not in the

3:55 center of the city. So why was a house in the skirts of the

4:00 city and not in the center of the city. It was because of a

4:03 profession, because she was a prostitute, all the illegal and not so caotional

4:11 kind of things. Only people keep in the outskirts of the city. They

4:14 don't keep in the limelight of the city. So she made this choice to

4:18 buy this house in the outskirts of the city, adjacent to the city wall,

4:24 because of a sinful act of being a prostitute. But the very choice

4:30 she made in sin when she committed to God and why attempted to do what

4:35 was right. God used that very choice to actually save her and an entire

4:41 family if you think about it, because in a little sense, it looks

4:45 like, you know, her house as adjacent to the city wall, but

4:48 only because of that choice, she and an entire family were saved. So

4:54 what I want to say is, I'm not giving you license to sin,

4:57 because if you're listening, that's what I'm saying. But what I'm saying is

5:00 even if you did make a choice in sin and you're wondering, Oh,

5:03 my goodness, this is a choice I have to live with the rest of

5:06 my life. But when you give it to God, God can use that

5:11 very choice for the extension of His kingdom, so they never ever sit in

5:15 mediocrity or sit in defeat and self pity and guilt and shame. You'll give

5:20 to God, he gives you a clean new slight for you to begin again.
