Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for
Speaker 2: the Soul with John Giftop podcast, where I want to
Speaker 2: challenge you to introspect the words that come out of
Speaker 2: your mouth. First things first, I want to start by
Speaker 2: sharing with you Proverbs thirteen, verse three, and this is
Speaker 2: what it says in the Nalty version, those who control
Speaker 2: their tongue will have a long life. Opening your mouth
Speaker 2: can ruin everything. First things first, I want you to
Speaker 2: understand the context is not saying just keep your mouth
Speaker 2: shut and not open your mouth at all. That's not
Speaker 2: the context. They are but you need to understand that.
Speaker 2: Sometimes you know, when you realize that opening your mouth
Speaker 2: can land you in greater trouble, or when you realize
Speaker 2: that you know you have that in disadvantage, or you
Speaker 2: have a negative how do I say this habit or
Speaker 2: something negative about you with your mouth? You need to
Speaker 2: be extra cautious, like you tend to overshare things, or
Speaker 2: you tend to be critical of people, or you tend
Speaker 2: to negative speak negatively even when you don't feel like it, lea,
Speaker 2: it just naturally comes to you to speak something negative,
Speaker 2: or you know, spoil things with your mouth or something
Speaker 2: like that. You know, I want you to be very,
Speaker 2: very careful because the Bible says those who control their
Speaker 2: tongue will have a long life. But sometimes you know,
Speaker 2: opening your mouth can ruin everything. No, Like when you
Speaker 2: think about the best example I can think of is
Speaker 2: how Joseph was in a position where he got these
Speaker 2: dreams from God. And what does he do Instead of
Speaker 2: keeping it to himself, he goes and shares it with
Speaker 2: his family. No, it's so important that you are keeping
Speaker 2: your mouth shut sometimes because if he had just kept
Speaker 2: his mouth shut, of course God used everything for his good.
Speaker 2: But here's the thing. If he had kept his mouth shut,
Speaker 2: he would have saved him from a lot of trouble.
Speaker 2: You get know what I'm saying. Because he opened his
Speaker 2: mouth and shared it with his brother so excited they
Speaker 2: were jealous of him. If he had kept his mouth shut,
Speaker 2: the dreams that God has placed in him or given
Speaker 2: him would have definitely come to pass. See when you
Speaker 2: think about even in the scripture talking about maybe, it
Speaker 2: says that she keept things to herself and pondered in
Speaker 2: her heart. See, there is a thing where you need
Speaker 2: to learn to keep things to yourself because you don't
Speaker 2: have to share everything to the whole world. See in
Speaker 2: my heart or in my life, like there are things
Speaker 2: I share in terms of the challenges I face because
Speaker 2: that helps people and encourages people. But if I'm going
Speaker 2: to be sharing things that make no difference in your life,
Speaker 2: there's no point in me sharing, And I am rather
Speaker 2: making a fool of myself in doing that. You get
Speaker 2: what I'm saying. See, there's also a moment where the
Speaker 2: apostle Paul in the Book of Facts was about to
Speaker 2: be let out as a free man, but he made
Speaker 2: a mistake. He said, I appeal to Caesar. And because
Speaker 2: he had done that, he was not let loose, because
Speaker 2: he opened his mouth and said, I appeal to Caesar.
Speaker 2: If he had just learned to keep his mouth shut
Speaker 2: at that point, he could have walked out as a
Speaker 2: free man. That's exactly what the once in authority said.
Speaker 2: This man could have walked out free if you had
Speaker 2: just not opened his mouth and said, I appeal to Caesar. Guys, today,
Speaker 2: my challenge is, don't let your words cause you to
Speaker 2: limit your life. Don't let your words put a strain
Speaker 2: in your life. Get to that place where you ask
Speaker 2: the Lord and the Holy spirits help receive it, and
Speaker 2: learn to guard your lips. Watch over your lips so
Speaker 2: that you make sure that your mouth does not ruin everything.
Speaker 2: Some people, it's just so easy for them. The minute
Speaker 2: they open their mouth. They want to just give a
Speaker 2: piece of their mind to somebody. They talk nonsense, They
Speaker 2: just trash people. Or some people are all the time
Speaker 2: negative where the Bible is life and that are on
Speaker 2: the part of the tongue, and they keep inviting negativity
Speaker 2: and death into their life and other people's life by
Speaker 2: their words. Don't let that be you today. Make you
Speaker 2: the commitment that you will guard your lips and control
Speaker 2: your tongue and make sure that your mouth does not
Speaker 2: lead you to ruins. Emmen, God bless you.
