Finding GOD's Will Sermon Series Part 1 - The DESIRE | John Giftah | Christian Sermon

doubt, many of us, as children of the King of Kings and the

Lord of Lords, me long and have to decide hard to do God's will.

We want to say, you know what, I want to fulfill God's

plans for my life. I want to accomplish his assignments and his purpose for

my life, and I just want to do that. That's a really good

place to start, and many people want to know how do I start,

How do I go about it? And what should I do? How can

I discern God's will and how can I find what God wants me to do

through my life. Now, this is a vast topic. There's so many

things we can talk about. I'm sure by now you would have noticed or

known the fact that I've already authored a best selling book called Unmail Your Purpose.

When I talk about various aspects with regard to identifying your purpose and walking

in your purpose at the same time, it all correlates to you know your

God given destiny and God's will in and through your life, and things that

that I really encourage you to take it out. I'm sure that book will

be a great blessing to you. But in the context of today's episode,

I want to start off by thinking you what are the different ways or how

to go about if you have a heart where you say I want to know

God's will for my life. I want to walk in my God given purpose

and to fulfill His plans for my life. So what do I do?

So the first and foremost thing is I want to start off by is sharing

a scripture with you that's just found in Psalms forty verse eight, where the

Psalmist is saying I desire to do your will, my God. The NLT

version says I take joy in doing your will, my God. Another translation

says, I delight to do your will or God. So when you look

at the common denominator of these scriptures is that I long, I desire,

I delight in doing your will. Another translation says I enjoy pleasing you or

God. I just love that you know. So another one how I allow

to do your will, my God. So when you look at all these

scriptures, what you understand is that it all begins in a place where you

have the desire to do God's will. It begins in a place where you

have the joy in doing God's will. It begins in a place where you

delight in doing God's will. It all begins in a place where you enjoy

in doing God's will. So what you have to understand is that you should

be in a place where you're not compelled. You should come from a place

within your heart. That's what I'm saying. It should not be an external

force. It should not be like, you know what I want to do,

you know what is right, just so that you know what I get

a good credit and site of people, or I'm accepted by society, or

I want to do it so that you know what I can get. Some

benefits out of my life or it. You know, you know, it

should not come from an external reason why you want to do God's will.

It should come from within you. It should come from you, the real

you. You should have the desire to do God's will. One of the

translations also says, I'm happy to do your willow God. Now I just

allow to, you know, look at different translations of the same verse,

and it's amazing because it gives you the depth of the worse and you understand

that. You know what. What I really want you to understand is this

important aspect. Many times when we say I want to know God's will,

I want to discern his will. You know, in something it begins from

you know what. Let me try to, you know, read the Bible

this match, or let me try to you know, or go through some

you know, conferences or something like that. You know, man, I'm

not against all of that, Listen, I'm not against all of that.

But what I want you to understand is, you know, when you want

to have that desire and heart, it should come from within your way,

from you, from the very members of your body, and from the very

spirit man that you are from. You should have that deep longing, the

deep desire, the deep delight to do God's will. And when it is

from within you, you don't need an external factor for it to push you

towards God's will. That's what I wanted to say. When it's something is

from external, you know, somebody has to do something for you to actually

go towards it. But when it is from within you, when you enjoy

doing it, when you are happy to do it, when you delight in

it, when you are having the desire to do it, what happens.

Nobody needs to put a gun on your head to make you do it.

You would just go towards it. Amen. So today I want you to

introspect yourself and see do you really, from the bottom of your heart have

that desire to do God's will? Are you really longing for it or is

it just an external thing? You know what, I want to do God's

will because I'm a Christian. I want to do God's will so that I

can go to Heaven. I want to do God's with because blah blah blah

blah blah. All the other reasons that you can have all is it because

from within you you enjoy it. You know, when you like something,

when you enjoy doing something, when you delight in something, and I let

me give you some practical examples. You know, I just allow you know,

the cartoon Scooby Doo, right like I just allow Scooby Doo so much

so, you know, nobody needs to put a gun on my head and

make me talk about Scoby Doo. Anytime I get an office unity, I

need to talk about Scooby Doo, or you know, anytime I get an

opportunity I need to bring Scooby Doo into a sermon, or anytime, you

know, I come across an opportunity where I could able to watch something or

add to my memberabilia or anything of that sort, I'd be like, you

know what, I want to do it. Why Because I just love this,

I delight in it, I desire I enjoy that, right when you

love something, or or even the podcast or my videos. You know,

there are so many times, so many distractions, so so many times,

you know, I'd be so tired by the end of the day because I

work, I have so many other things coming up, you know, at

home and things like that that you know what, in spite of all of

that, I push myself to do this because you know what, I have

that desire, because I have that longing, because I enjoy and I love

doing this. So when you love doing something, nothing can stop you.

You'll you'll try to go against all the opposition. You'll go against all the

challenges, you will go against the wind, and you'll be like, you

know what, I need to get this done? Why? Because you love

it so much? Right, the same thing you have to have withter Carto,

God's will. It should not be an external thing. It should be

from you. You have that inspiration within you. You should have that commitment

within you, and you should have that longing within you today. Do you

have that? If you have it, it's amazing. I'm so happy for

you. But if you don't, I want to pray with you right now.

God, I pray for every single person listening, Lord, I pray

that you'll fill them with that desire and that longing for your will, that

they don't need an external reason to seek your will, but they will have

an inside out reason from within them. They have that longing and that desire

to do your will, that they will delight in your will, that they

will seek your will, that they will allow to do your will. They

will be happy to do your will. It should not be forced upon them,

and it should not be that you know what, Oh my goodness,

I don't want to do it, but I still have to do it.

Now. Let it be in a place where they desire your will to any

extent to God, I pray and I release the Holy Spirit over every single

one listening that they will be filled with that desire and the longing to do

God's will. Amen. I just encourage you to stay tuned for the next
