discussions and interviews. You'll be inspired to live the life that you were created

record holder, aerospace engineer, life coach, evangelist, and founder of John
Gifta International. Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta. One of
the things I wanted to talk to you about is found in the Book of
John, chapter twelve. Incident that happens right after Jesus raises Lazarus back to
life, and in honor of what Jesus has done and the different things,
there was a feast that was prepared at dinner that was prepared for Jesus,
and Martha served and Lazarus was also among those who ate with Jesus. And
at this point of time, Mary took twelve on jar of an expensive perfume
made of in essence of pornd and she anointed Jesus's feet with it, wiping
his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance, and
look at us for but Judas carried at the disciple who would later betray him,
said that perfume was worth a year's wages. He should have been given
to the poor instead of you know, spending so much of money on this
perfume on Jesus, and who was six is so crucial, he says,
not that he care about the poor, because he was a chief, and
he was in charge of the disciples money, and he often stole some for
himself. Now, a lot of times the em physici is focused on the
amount of money that was spent, like, oh, my goodness, Judas
is character is talking about the fact that this lady spends such a lot of
money on Jesus. And a lot of times the focus is on the amount
that was spent, and the criticism comes from the amount of amount that was
spent. And you know, even if you look at the same incident recorded
in the Book of Mark chapter fourteen, or even in the book of Matthew,
you know there are slight variations in the according in the way it is
mentioned. But it's referring to the same incident. But the thing I want
you to understand here is this important truth. Here. You see that when
you know Mary is anointing Jesus with the perfume, Judas is the one who
makes this comment. Right. If you look at the other translations, sorry,
the other books, like the accounts of Matthew and Mark, they're not
referring to us and telling us who made the comments. It says some of
the disciples made the comments, some of those who were there made the comments.
But here it specifies that it was Judas. You know, even if
you say, oh, that means it's not just Judas. It could be
others. Also. Maybe it's like, you know, a typical case scenario,
right, if one person raises their hand, there are a few people,
without even thinking, they would just say, yeah, this guy makes
sense. You know, I agree with what you say. Blah blah blah
blah, right, even without thinking for themselves. So that is what would
have possibly happened. Because the other records, the other accounts, the other
books are not mentioning about who said this, who started this statement, But
the Book of John is specifically telling us it was Judas, and it also
goes on to say that Judas never had a good intention. He was stealing
the money, which when I was just thinking about it, it just dawned
on me that, you know, the problem was not about the amount that
was spent at all. Like just imagine if the same lady, instead of
giving it in the form of buying the perfume and spending it on Jesus,
if she had donated the same amount in the form of cash, Judas would
have said, praise the Lord, Let's go and get this donors stone for
this big donation given by this lady. That's how he would have stated why,
because more money in the form of cash means he would get the opportunity
to steal some more. Right, So, what you understand here is that
the problem that they had, the criticism they had was not targeted at the
amount that was spent by the lady, but by the form in which she
presented or offering. Are you getting what I'm saying? The problem was not
the fact that she spent so much. You know, if she had spent
so much and given it as an offering in the form of cash, they
would have been really happy. This complained would I've never been raised. But
because she gave it in the form of perfume, none of these guys could
get any benefit from it. Judas could not steal any money. It could
not be distributed for other purposes. This was solely, or is, a
personal gift from Mary to Jesus. What I want you guys to understand you
this evening or this day as you're listening to this, is this important truth
that the reason why some people target you is because you are having your own
personal lingo with the Lord. You have your own personal experience with the Lord.
This lady was having a personal encounter with Jesus. She didn't just stick
to the protocol. She didn't just stick to the conventional method. She didn't
just stick to, you know, the typical way of giving an offering,
you know, the traditional approach. She did something that was very unique,
very personal to her from her heart. You know, one of the things
I want to share with you guys is when it comes to your relationship with
God, have your own personal lingo to it. You don't have to stick
to the conventional, typical, traditional approach that has been handed over to you.
You know, sometimes we just hear people say, you know, this
is the only way to do. No, when it comes to your walk
with the Lord, you don't have to do what everybody else is doing.
It can be just between you and the Lord. How is your walk with
God? Because you can do something for the sake of it and not mean
it, and it's all a waste, you know, on a typical O
case. You know, a lot of times when you ask people what is
praise and worship, they think it's just three fast songs and two slow songs
make praise and worship? You know, if you don't mean it, if
you don't understand what it is, it's if it's not an expression from your
heart, You're just singing songs. It's not praise and worship and pray.
Worship and praise need not be stuck to songs. You know, for me
as an individual, for me, songs is not the way I can express
myself. For me, it's more to do with dance. I just love
to move around and dance. And you know, I'm not saying I'm you
know, like a proper dancer or something, but my way of expression to
towards the Lord is to dance rather than through songs. So like that,
I'm asking you have your own personal rhythm with the Lord, a personal way
of expressing things to the Lord. This lady did not follow the typical method.
She followed her own personal lingo before the Lord. And that's what I
want to challenge each one of us. You know, one more example,
and I want to close in this segment, is that you know, when
it comes to Bible reading right, a lot of times typically we hear people
say, you know, you need to read the Bible in the morning,
right, you need to read the Bible. So when I was much young,
what used to happen was this was not working out for me. You
know, just take the Bible and read in the morning. I was half
sleepy, I couldn't focus, I couldn't understand, and I would just read
for the sake of reading and close the Bible. And it never made sense,
you know, it never made sense. I was keeping everyone else happy
because I was doing a good job of reading the Bible in front of everyone,
but I personally felt that this was not working out for me. Right.
And then when I was started praying about that, God gave me a
very unique creative idea, right, because I didn't want to lose my focus,
and you know, just do it for the sake of like a checklist.
So God gave me this idea where I would stand in the living room
in a certain place where I can see myself on five different places on the
showcase, glasses, the television and all of these things when I set them
at a certain angle. What used to happen is I used to take this
makeshift microphone that I had that my brother had made for me, and I
will take the Bible and I would read it like I'm preaching it. I
would just go and you know, read it like imagining that I'm preaching in
front of a huge crowd, front of the television and all of these things.
And I was used to, you know, ask the Lord for explanation.
The Holy Spirit would teach me things. So what used to happen was
I was learning, I was growing, I was feeding on the world.
At the same time, God was also preparing me as a preacher, as
a speaker. So when people ask me today, how do you feel like
preaching in a cruisiade for the first time or on TV for the first time,
in front of a huge crowd for the first time, did you get
scared? I feel like I've done this before. So that personal expression or
a personal thing that I had with the Lord prepared me as an individual for
what God has called me to do. That was very unique in a creative
way. That way, I didn't feel tired. I didn't feel like I
was losing my focus. I didn't feel like I was losing my concentration.
I didn't feel like I was reading for the sake of reading. I felt
that it was very unique. I enjoyed and through that process God was preparing
me like that. I'm praying each one of you if the typical conventional method
is not working out, if you're not someone who reads, but you love
listening, here's a podcast you're listening. If that means you love listening,
which means you can maybe go for an audio Bible. You know, if
praying with your mouth closed is not helping, maybe you can open your mouth
and pray loud. It might be helpful for you. So ask the Lord,
what is a unique creative way that you can develop your relationship with the
Lord, so that you can have your own thing with a Lord. You
don't have to follow what everybody else is doing a typical formula, and when
you have that personal linguo like this lady, especially, she didn't follow the
typical way of giving in the form of cash. She gave a perfume,
which was very personal. But that is something that we are speaking of.
That's what Jesus said about this lady as well. He said in the book
of Mark fourteen. He was saying, wherever the gospel is going to be
preached, this account of this lady will be mentioned all across the globe because
of what she has done. And that is the way of what you do
for the Lord, and a personal account will get you places that you never
even dreamed of. Amen, God bless you. You've been listening to Fuel
