How to Face Unpredictable Seasons of Life? | Inspirational Christian Sermon | John Giftah
Tonight's Episode
Life often feels uncertain — layoffs, sickness, sudden changes, and closed doors can leave us feeling shaken. But in 1 Kings 17, Elijah’s story shows us that even in unpredictable seasons, GOD’s provision is constant. When Elijah faced famine, isolation, and unexpected instructions, GOD provided for him through ravens, a widow, and a never-ending jar of oil. The methods changed, but GOD never failed. In this episode, John Giftah encourages you to trust GOD even when you don’t understand the shifts. You’ll learn how to:- Stand firm when life feels unstable
- Recognize GOD’s hand in unexpected provision
- Keep faith through uncertainty

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for
Speaker 2: the Soul with John Gifta Podcast. It has a joint
Speaker 2: honor for me to be with you today where I
Speaker 2: want to talk about it a very important word that
Speaker 2: I really want to recommend and share with you because
Speaker 2: we're living at a time and age where everything is
Speaker 2: so unpredictable. We are just seeing people getting laid off,
Speaker 2: or there are so many divorce rates increasing, or we
Speaker 2: are looking at so many people you know who are
Speaker 2: falling sick for sicknesses that I've never been heard of.
Speaker 2: For so many unpredictable things happening. You know, the markets
Speaker 2: are crashing, Everything is uncertain, and we live in a
Speaker 2: time and age when we're like, you know what, I
Speaker 2: do not know? How do I discern my next move?
Speaker 2: What do I do in the season of transition? What
Speaker 2: do I do in this kind of an unpredictable economic condition,
Speaker 2: or in a moment when I'm like, oh my gosh,
Speaker 2: what if I lose my job, or what if my
Speaker 2: client doesn't renew the subscription or whatever be it today,
Speaker 2: I want you to understand that in the midst of
Speaker 2: this that no matter what happens, doesn't happen, no matter
Speaker 2: what is going on or not, I want you to
Speaker 2: understand that God is sovereignly in control of your life,
Speaker 2: and he is a good God. He is a faith god,
Speaker 2: He is a loving father, and even before the foundations
Speaker 2: of the world, he planned you. He created you, and
Speaker 2: He has set a purpose for your life. And he
Speaker 2: said in his word you know what, you know, the
Speaker 2: way I take care of the birds in the field,
Speaker 2: I'm going to take care of you. You don't have
Speaker 2: to worry. I know what you need when you need it,
Speaker 2: and I'm going to meet your needs Because He is
Speaker 2: our ultimate provider. He is our ultimate source. Yes, you
Speaker 2: may have a job and a client, and you may
Speaker 2: be greatful for all of that. We all have to
Speaker 2: be grateful for things that God has placed in our
Speaker 2: lives to bless us. The resources, the connections, the family,
Speaker 2: the roof over our head, the clues that we have.
Speaker 2: We're grateful for all of that. But understand that it's
Speaker 2: not you by yourself having all of this, but it
Speaker 2: is the ultimate hand of God upon your life, the
Speaker 2: gracious hand of God providing for you your source. He
Speaker 2: is the one that matters, and he is saying, you
Speaker 2: know what, I know what you need. I have your
Speaker 2: best interests at heart. Won't you trust me in these
Speaker 2: troubling times? When you look at the scripture, there's something
Speaker 2: that really caught my attention. Now I want to talk
Speaker 2: to you today from Birth Kings chapter seventeen, and there's
Speaker 2: a moment where there's a huge famine in the land. Okay,
Speaker 2: and this is divinely orchestrated famine. And verse two says
Speaker 2: the word of the Lord came to Elijah saying leave,
Speaker 2: turn eastward and hide in the credit rawine east of
Speaker 2: the Jordan. You will drink from the brook, and I
Speaker 2: have directed the ravens to supply you with the food.
Speaker 2: There see its something that seems like, oh my goodness.
Speaker 2: You know what, there's a famine in the lad be
Speaker 2: living in a time and age there is there's such
Speaker 2: a unpredictable, uncomfortable season that we are in. Famine in
Speaker 2: terms of job opportunities, famine in terms of business avenues,
Speaker 2: Famine in terms of the fact that so many people
Speaker 2: are losing their health out of things. There's a famine
Speaker 2: of huge health crisis. There's a famine in terms of
Speaker 2: so many people are single and not able to find
Speaker 2: the right person that God has ordained for their life
Speaker 2: in some way or the other. There is an element
Speaker 2: of a famine, element of something that's just not working
Speaker 2: out and whatever is happening. And here's the thing I
Speaker 2: wanted to understand. The word of the Lord came to Elijah,
Speaker 2: are saying, I want you to go to this rewine
Speaker 2: and the Bible season verse five. So he did what
Speaker 2: the Lord told him to do. I don't know who
Speaker 2: needs to hear this word. Guys, no matter how unpredictable
Speaker 2: your situation is, don't just go by what you feel
Speaker 2: go by what the Lord is saying. It may seem weird, like,
Speaker 2: oh my gosh, God, you know what, there's a famine
Speaker 2: and you're asking me to go to a rewine. You're
Speaker 2: asking me to drink from a broke, You're asking me
Speaker 2: to depend on ravens. That's so unpredictable. What if the
Speaker 2: ravenstop cos What if the ravens don't like me? What
Speaker 2: if the ravens don't bring the food on time? What
Speaker 2: do I do? But here's the thing. He did what
Speaker 2: the Lord told him to do, and he stayed there,
Speaker 2: and the Bible says the ravens brought him bread and
Speaker 2: meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening,
Speaker 2: and he drank from the brook. You see, when the
Speaker 2: Lord says I will take care of you, he will
Speaker 2: take care of you. He will provide for you. There's
Speaker 2: this beauty of how he orchestrated this. The word says
Speaker 2: I have directed the ravens to supply. In one translation,
Speaker 2: it says I have ordered the ravens. In another one,
Speaker 2: it says I have commanded them. You see, God commands
Speaker 2: how you should be fed, how you should be taken
Speaker 2: care of, how you should be provided. So go by
Speaker 2: what the Lord is saying and asking you to do,
Speaker 2: instead of going by what you feel, what the natural
Speaker 2: tendency for you to think about a situation looks like.
Speaker 2: And then here's the thing. After some time, the brook
Speaker 2: dried up, okay, because there was no rain in the land,
Speaker 2: and verse say says, and the word of the Lord
Speaker 2: came to him and said, go at once to Zerah
Speaker 2: Fad in the region of Zidome, and stay that. I
Speaker 2: have directed a widow there to supply you with food.
Speaker 2: And the verse ten says, So he went to Zerah film.
Speaker 2: I want you to think about this. When the brook cried,
Speaker 2: Elijah didn't go looking for another brook. Typically we say, oh,
Speaker 2: I lost my job, let me go looking for another job.
Speaker 2: I lost this client, Let me go looking for another client.
Speaker 2: I had a breakup, let me go looking for somebody else.
Speaker 2: You see, he didn't just go by what he felt
Speaker 2: or because you see, he could have got used to
Speaker 2: this lifestyle. Sometimes we get used to a certain lifestyle
Speaker 2: and we're like, nord, Oh, this is how I'm usually fed.
Speaker 2: This is how God usually provides, This is how he
Speaker 2: has been providing in the past, through this job, through
Speaker 2: this kind of career part or whatever. But the Lord
Speaker 2: is saying to you today, don't just go by what
Speaker 2: God used in the ast, don't go by viral senses
Speaker 2: are saying, don't go by what you're used to or
Speaker 2: comfortable with, being a place where the minute God said,
Speaker 2: now I want you to go to the Zerah faith,
Speaker 2: and you know I have directed a widow to supply
Speaker 2: you with food. Didn't stay there, He went where God
Speaker 2: led him today. That is my challenge going through unpredictable seasons.
Speaker 2: The key to face unpredictable seasons is by staying connected
Speaker 2: with God and listening to what God is saying and
Speaker 2: following him. Not going by what we feel, not going
Speaker 2: by what logic or your mind says, not going by
Speaker 2: what people are giving you as a piece of advice. See,
Speaker 2: there's a place for everything, right like there's a place
Speaker 2: for listening to good advices. There's a place for having
Speaker 2: spiritual discernment and wisdom. All of that is true. What
Speaker 2: surpassed everything is your relationship with God to a point
Speaker 2: where you know God is leading you in a certain
Speaker 2: direction and you go by it. And that's the challenge
Speaker 2: I want to leave with each one of you today
Speaker 2: in this unpredictable season, go by how God is leading you,
Speaker 2: coop by his direction of your life, and I'm telling
Speaker 2: you your life will never be the same for the better.
Speaker 2: I challenge you to share this around with somebody who
Speaker 2: will be blessed by this sermon, and I encourage you
Speaker 2: to come around. Let's keep unlocking new things that we
Speaker 2: can learn from the Word of God, and I believe
Speaker 2: that this will help us guide us through these unpredictable times. Amen,
Speaker 2: God bless you.
