0:53 a time and age where most people are living a very selfish life. It's

0:57 all about what's in it for me. I'll get this done, or I'll

1:00 help you if you'd help me back in return, if I can get some

1:03 value out of this, if something will benefit me in some way, or

1:08 I will help you because you help me last time, or I will help

1:11 you so that you will help me when I'm in need. So we live

1:14 in a time in age when everything is about ourselves. What's in it for

1:18 me? Will I gain anything? Otherwise? Let me just live my own

1:21 life. I'm just going on peacefully. I don't want any more trouble.

1:23 I don't want any more pain for myself. I don't want to get to

1:26 in any unwanted trouble by referring somebody else or getting something to help somebody else,

1:34 going the extra mile for somebody else, and then, you know,

1:36 putting myself in a bad spot. So I just want to live for myself.

1:40 This is the kind of a mindset that a lot of people are living

1:42 in, and they're all buried in their own world, of their own stuff,

1:49 the things that they're dealing with, their own day to day activities and

1:53 things like that. I just want to quickly share something with you guys,

1:56 and I want to take this forward. And it is found in Genesis forty

1:59 one, and it's part of the story of Joseph. Right, Joseph had

2:04 interpreted the dream of the Cappara, and just as the Capara had heard from

2:09 Joseph, his life came in accordance to the dream and the interpretation of the

2:15 dream. And so there was a moment. The Bible says two full years

2:20 later Pharaoh had the dream, and he gets this particular dream in the first

2:27 verse of the forty first chapter of Genesis. I encourage you to check this

2:31 up if you do not know the exact specifics of the details. But I

2:35 just want to get into the point that I want to share. And so

2:38 again he gets another dream where the Pharaoh gets two dreams back to back,

2:44 and VERSEID says, in the morning, his mind was troubled, so he

2:47 sent for all the magicians and the wise men of Egypt. Pharaoh told him

2:52 his dreams, but no one could interpret them for him. Pharaoh told him

2:57 of his dreams, and no one could interpret the dreams for him. So

3:00 there's a moment where you see that Pharaoh gets these dreams and he's concerned about

3:06 it, and he's he doesn't know what it is, and it's troubling his

3:08 mind. And at that point the worst nine says, then the chief Cambara

3:14 said to Pharaoh today, I am reminded of my shortcomings. And he goes

3:20 on to say, Pharaoh, you were angry with me once, and then

3:23 you imprisoned me and the chief Baker. And there there was a man,

3:29 Hebrew, who was able to interpret both of our dreams when we told him,

3:34 and it happened exactly as he had interpreted so the rest is history.

3:40 When Pharaoh calls Joseph to come and to interpret the dream, and you know,

3:46 Joseph's life just turns around in a nutshell. What I want you got

3:51 to understand is you get the attitude or the mindset of the Cambara. Right.

3:55 He didn't get any personal gain out of this. He could have just

3:59 said, you know what, last time the Pharaoh got mad at me and

4:01 he sent me into the prison. I don't want to have any trouble,

4:05 unwanted trouble. You know what if I, you know, maybe refer this

4:11 guy and then he's not able to interpret and Pharaoh gets more angry and he

4:15 puts me back in jail. Lord, you know, any random thought he

4:18 could have had, he had all the reasons. You know, these are

4:20 the typical kind of reasons people come up and say, Hey, why should

4:24 I refer this person? Why should I help that person? You know what

4:27 if they don't do a good job, or what if? You know,

4:30 I landed more trouble because of this, So why I can just mind my

4:32 own business and go This Pharaoh never asked him anything, but he himself came

4:38 up and said, hey, Pharaoh, you know I remember there was a

4:40 guy called Joseph. You know what I wanted to understand is he didn't do

4:44 it because he was looking at what's in it for him. He just did

4:47 it with a good attitude. It's just that he had forgotten about Joseph for

4:51 a long time and at the right time, the Lord reminded him about Joseph.

4:56 And what today lesson I want you guys to take forward is you know,

5:00 live with an attitude of you know, where you let go of this

5:03 what's in it for me attitude. Don't just do anything so that you can

5:08 gain something out of it, just so that you can get something for yourself,

5:11 or with an attitude of you know, something that maybe a favor or

5:15 a help that you can receive for yourself, but get just have a selfless

5:20 attitude where you want to help somebody. You just want to be a blessing

5:24 to other people. Where you are like, even if I don't get anything

5:27 out of this, it's fine, I just want to do it for greater

5:29 good. You know, the scripture says if you know to do good and

5:31 you don't do good, that's also sin, right, It's not sin only

5:35 if you do something bad. Even if you know to do good and if

5:38 you don't do it, still listen. So today I pray that let's get

5:41 to that place where we can be a blessing to other people. Even if

5:44 we are just going to be used and thrown or we're not even going to

5:46 be in the picture. We're not going to get the benefits. I mean,

5:49 the Chief coup Barter do not get the kind of benefits that Joseph ended

5:54 up having. Right, but he didn't mind all of that, or he

5:58 just went and said, this is all that I can help. And this

6:01 is what you did, the connection, and that is what changed so many

6:06 things in favor. So that's what I want you, guys, to go

6:10 to a place where you overcome the selfish attitude and just want to be a

6:15 blessing to other people and with no strings attached. Emman, God bless you.
