The Miracle Hidden in Your Loss | John Giftah | Christian Sermon
Tonight's Episode
In John chapter 2, the Bible records the first miracle performed by JESUS at the wedding in Cana. The story begins with a problem:
The wine ran out.
For the family hosting the wedding, this looked like a moment of loss, embarrassment, and disappointment.
But that very loss became the platform for a miracle.
JESUS stepped in and turned water into wine — not just replacing what was lost, but providing something better than what they had before.
Sometimes in life we focus on what has run out.
A lost opportunity.
A closed door.
A season that seems to have ended.
But the message of this passage reminds us that when something runs out, it can create space for GOD to introduce something new.
In this episode of Fuel for the Soul with John Giftah, discover how your losses may actually be preparing the way for GOD’s new wine in your life.
What looks like the end may simply be the beginning of a miracle.

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John GIFTA.
Speaker 2: Hey God, MICHELI such a joy for me to be
Speaker 2: with you today on this segment of the Fuel for
Speaker 2: the Soul with John GIFTA podcast. As you to listen.
Speaker 2: For the past couple of days, we've been doing various
Speaker 2: things that we can learn from this incident recorded in
Speaker 2: John chapter two when Jesus sterne walt it into wine.
Speaker 2: Today as well, I'm going to talk about another important
Speaker 2: aspect where we can learn this and inculcate this. And
Speaker 2: this might be a word of encouragement to you if
Speaker 2: you're going through a season of loss you're going through
Speaker 2: a season of setback, a season where things that you
Speaker 2: had is also gone and it's taken away from you,
Speaker 2: or you made a decision that you didn't think that
Speaker 2: you know what, this is how your life would be
Speaker 2: at this point of time. Maybe you lost a job,
Speaker 2: maybe your relationship that you were hoping would work out
Speaker 2: did not work out in the end, or maybe would
Speaker 2: to a client that you were working on and suddenly backtracked,
Speaker 2: and now you're left in square one and you're like,
Speaker 2: oh my goodness, John, I do not know what to do.
Speaker 2: I mean a season of especially right now with the
Speaker 2: war that's happening in the Middle East, and I just
Speaker 2: want to take a minute to say a what a
Speaker 2: prayer right now? Or those who are impacted by this war,
Speaker 2: whether they're impacted directly by the war, I want you
Speaker 2: to just say a what a prayer for them in
Speaker 2: the name of Jesus Christ, for those who are affected
Speaker 2: by it, those lost allowed ones in this process. We
Speaker 2: pray for peace in the region and also for also
Speaker 2: those who are indirectly impacted. One of the things that's
Speaker 2: happening is there's a oil crisis happening, or there's this
Speaker 2: crisis happening, like when even with gas and so many
Speaker 2: restaurants and businesses in the food industry because of oil,
Speaker 2: even the transportation industry, everything is taking ahead because of this.
Speaker 2: So that just reminds me of a moment where when
Speaker 2: sometimes you know, when the resources are affected, right, you know,
Speaker 2: it can just hit you really hard. And this is
Speaker 2: a moment in John chapter two where predominantly required resource
Speaker 2: that was wine right out. See, it's one thing for
Speaker 2: it to just like, oh my gosh, you know what,
Speaker 2: I think it's less, so let's use it scarstly. But
Speaker 2: it's another thing when they realize like, oh my goodness,
Speaker 2: we do not know whether we planned this well or
Speaker 2: not what happened. Maybe people rank too much, or maybe
Speaker 2: there was a lack of planning. That's another message altogether,
Speaker 2: but just the thing, whatever happened today. You may be saying, John,
Speaker 2: I do not know what happened, whether I should have
Speaker 2: done something to prevent this, or maybe I should have
Speaker 2: taken some steps. But here I am John, I lost.
Speaker 2: It is over. I do not know what to do.
Speaker 2: Maybe he taken a course or taken some steps that
Speaker 2: would have helped me to be better skilled. To you, know,
Speaker 2: tackle the next promotion, but now I lost my job,
Speaker 2: or maybe I thought, you know what, if I had
Speaker 2: taken that extra step towards this relationship and maybe bright
Speaker 2: and worked out, maybe you're in that place. But today
Speaker 2: I'm telling you, you know, instead of crying over the
Speaker 2: fact that you lost it, or instead of crying over
Speaker 2: the fact that this thing is over, I wanted to
Speaker 2: understand that the fact that the wine ran out is
Speaker 2: the only reason why Jesus stepped into the scene. And
Speaker 2: he didn't just make a new wine. The Bible says
Speaker 2: that the wine he made was better off than what
Speaker 2: was left, so to a point where when the Master
Speaker 2: of Cinnemony listened to it, he said, you know what,
Speaker 2: everybody keeps the best wine for the beginning and in
Speaker 2: the beginning, and then you know, brings in the less
Speaker 2: expensive wine later, but you have kept the best for
Speaker 2: the last. And he think about this, right. God brought
Speaker 2: better wine now, better than what was lost, better than
Speaker 2: what got over. God brought something better today. I want
Speaker 2: you to look at your lost resources or lost job,
Speaker 2: or lost relationship or lost client, whatever you lost in
Speaker 2: your life with the money or anything for the matter,
Speaker 2: what you lost instead of looking at it as a
Speaker 2: lost think of it. Maybe the loss is the platform
Speaker 2: which made the room for God to bring something new,
Speaker 2: something better, something long lasting, something that you're going to
Speaker 2: look back and say, look what the Lot has done today.
Speaker 2: I want you to have that perspective because you going
Speaker 2: through that loss. It is hard when you go through
Speaker 2: that lack of resources. It is hard season where you know,
Speaker 2: like the opposite Paul was saying, you know, we often
Speaker 2: caught I can do all things through Christ to strengthens
Speaker 2: me if you see the capacities saying, you know what,
Speaker 2: I've been through seasons where I had a lot, been
Speaker 2: through seasons when I lacked, I didn't have enough. But yes,
Speaker 2: the thing, that's the whole point. You go through seasons
Speaker 2: where you don't have enough. The resources are depleting. You
Speaker 2: feel like things are not working out. You feel like
Speaker 2: you're in a dry season, a dry patch. Just doors
Speaker 2: are not opening, everything is being shut. People are walking
Speaker 2: out of your life, and things are just not looking
Speaker 2: good in your life. But I want you to understand
Speaker 2: that when you're in a season where nothing is working,
Speaker 2: that you are in a tremendous loss and you have
Speaker 2: lost everything. The only thing that you taught to You
Speaker 2: could have prevented it from going through the season, maybe
Speaker 2: by better planning or whatever. But whatever happened happened. But
Speaker 2: today I want to give you this word of encouragement.
Speaker 2: No matter what it has been, God is making no
Speaker 2: matter what it has been, God is able to use
Speaker 2: this empty room or the empty jars to bring in
Speaker 2: something new in your life. I want you to believe that.
Speaker 2: I want you to trust Him because He is able
Speaker 2: to do exceeding inabundantly, far and beyond whatever you can ask,
Speaker 2: think or even imagine. So today, so of looking at
Speaker 2: a loss as a loss, look at it as a
Speaker 2: platform for God to bring something new into your life. Amen,
Speaker 2: God bless you.
