Success is not wrong. But when success becomes identity, love gets lost.

Speaker 1: Do you ever look around and think, Wow, the world
Speaker 1: is a crazy place and it just seems to get
Speaker 1: crazier and crazier. Ease your mind and take a break.
Speaker 1: This is Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta. We're
Speaker 1: a hub for inspirational Christian sermons, practical keys for Christian living,
Speaker 1: in Christian discussions and interviews, you'll be inspired to live
Speaker 1: the life that you were created for. Your host is
Speaker 1: a top ranking podcaster, best selling author, world record holder,
Speaker 1: aerospace engineer, life coach, evangelist and founder of John Gifta International.
Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for
Speaker 2: the Soul with John gift of podcast. And as you
Speaker 2: would have seen that, we're doing a series on how
Speaker 2: to practically walk in unconditional Love. I really challenge you
Speaker 2: to check out each of these segments because there's so
Speaker 2: much of truth that you and I need to get
Speaker 2: dive into. And maybe there are things that you already know,
Speaker 2: but we just need to revisit and make sure that
Speaker 2: we are walking in this truth so that we are
Speaker 2: actually walking in the love, walking in the kind of
Speaker 2: life that God has in store for us as well.
Speaker 2: And we've been talking about various aspects that our Bible
Speaker 2: is talking about with regard to the Loud chapter first
Speaker 2: Goud Intean Stebrad thirteen. And today I'm going to talk
Speaker 2: about another important aspect from this. If you look at
Speaker 2: verse four, which we have already talked about love being patient,
Speaker 2: love is kind, love does not envy. Today we're going
Speaker 2: to talk about how love does not boast and love
Speaker 2: is not proud. Now, I want you to understand something
Speaker 2: very important here that I know for a fact that
Speaker 2: most of us say, oh, I don't want to be proud.
Speaker 2: I am who I am what by the grace of God.
Speaker 2: But sometimes we need to check ourselves, like maybe in
Speaker 2: a subtle way, we tend to boast. Not I mean
Speaker 2: the apostle Paul said, you know, I boast only in
Speaker 2: the Lord. We are supposed to boast in the Lord,
Speaker 2: like I am who I am by the grace of God.
Speaker 2: If not for God's grace, I wouldn't be able to
Speaker 2: do what I'm doing. That's true. But at the same time,
Speaker 2: sometimes just sometimes we just tend to think more about
Speaker 2: ourselves or boast in our own capabilities. And I've noticed
Speaker 2: this in my life where I realize sometimes we tend
Speaker 2: to think like, oh I am able to do this.
Speaker 2: I am, you know, like indispensable. I need to be there,
Speaker 2: you know, like we have that subtle things, and sometimes
Speaker 2: even in a conversation sometimes that sense of boastfulness just
Speaker 2: comes in, like oh, you know what, I've done this,
Speaker 2: or I've been here, I travel so much, or I
Speaker 2: have accomplished this, I have done that. See, whenever I share,
Speaker 2: I'm always very cautious, like God, keep me sharing things
Speaker 2: that needs to be shared from the right heart. You know,
Speaker 2: when I share a lot of times that the podcast
Speaker 2: is stop ranking, or the book is a bestseller, my
Speaker 2: books were bestsellers, or certain accomplishments like the world recort
Speaker 2: that I've set and all of that, I am very
Speaker 2: cautious because I want to use it only to give
Speaker 2: in a sense of credibility. But not from a place
Speaker 2: of look who I am, look where I am, or
Speaker 2: look what I have done. It's never from that place.
Speaker 2: It's always from a place of look what the Lot
Speaker 2: has done with my life, Look what the Lord can
Speaker 2: do with your life. If he did it for me,
Speaker 2: he will do it for you. And only from that
Speaker 2: so always introspect your heart and say, am I boastful?
Speaker 2: Am I always saying like, look I am this, I
Speaker 2: am that. You know. Sometimes we see people who allow
Speaker 2: to boast about them maybe accomplishments or their education. Oh
Speaker 2: you know what I'm in, you know. For me, for example,
Speaker 2: I'm an aerospace engineer. Like I've seen people if they
Speaker 2: were in a similar place, they would be like I
Speaker 2: am an irosp engineer, you know, like in a very
Speaker 2: boastful manner. Or for example, sometimes I've seen people post
Speaker 2: on socials. I'm very, very careful when I post on socials.
Speaker 2: I post when the Lord leads and how sometimes you know,
Speaker 2: you used it to tell people certain things and convey things.
Speaker 2: But I'm very cash careful, Like for example, one of
Speaker 2: the things that I try my best to avoid is,
Speaker 2: you know, like even family photos. I'm very careful when
Speaker 2: I post because I've seen sometimes it might be innocent
Speaker 2: in one way, but it can also be hurting to
Speaker 2: somebody else, because somebody else who's not having that, you know,
Speaker 2: like the gift of being able to travel with their family,
Speaker 2: or the gift of being able to do certain things.
Speaker 2: I don't want them to feel envious or them to
Speaker 2: feel like, oh my gosh, you know what this guy
Speaker 2: is enjoying and look at me. You know, like, even
Speaker 2: if that's not my intention, sometimes I'm very careful on
Speaker 2: those things and I really challenge you, like like I've
Speaker 2: seen sometimes people they just want to post and post
Speaker 2: you know what this is, this many at the place
Speaker 2: or where I'm going, and see it's all with a
Speaker 2: grain of salt. You need to take it right, like
Speaker 2: there is a place where you can share as a testimony,
Speaker 2: but it should be careful that it's coming from a
Speaker 2: heart of testimony. The tone of a testimony to say,
Speaker 2: look what a lot is done in comparison to somebody
Speaker 2: just boasting and saying see what I have done? You
Speaker 2: see where I am now? No, no, no, no. Your
Speaker 2: tone matters when you post, even on social media. Is
Speaker 2: it coming from a heart of testimony or is it
Speaker 2: coming from a heart of boasting? Matters. If you're proud,
Speaker 2: it will be visible. I have seen it in people
Speaker 2: they want to boast like oh I'm doing this, I'm
Speaker 2: going here, I'm doing this. Great. I'm not denying that
Speaker 2: look what a lot is done. But if you're giving
Speaker 2: glory to God through that, great but if you're boasting
Speaker 2: just to boast, I'm sorry, you need to reevaliate. And
Speaker 2: it can be with regard to posting on social media.
Speaker 2: It can be with regard to you know, your conversations.
Speaker 2: You know some people they like in the past. I
Speaker 2: think I've I've been with people, uh you know, when
Speaker 2: I share about being best selling author or anything, I
Speaker 2: use it in a very you know, credible manner or
Speaker 2: something like that. Whereas I've seen people they have to say, oh,
Speaker 2: you know what, I am a best selling author, or
Speaker 2: I am you know, a commander in chief, or I
Speaker 2: am this, I am that they in the way they say,
Speaker 2: you know that they post or their their security or
Speaker 2: their identity is rooted in that accomplishment. I wanted to
Speaker 2: really check yourself. Are you posting even when you don't
Speaker 2: realize you're actually posting? Are you just being proud of
Speaker 2: your accomplishments to a fact that your identity is rooted
Speaker 2: in that? Be very careful. When the podcast was ranking
Speaker 2: up the charts, and even by God's grace, even I
Speaker 2: think even right now it's ranking in several countries. The
Speaker 2: thing is this, there was a moment I actually took
Speaker 2: a break from you know the podcast. You know why,
Speaker 2: because there came a point when I noticed that my
Speaker 2: podcast was taking up my identity, Like I was son
Speaker 2: as the podcast guy, the top ranking podcast, all of
Speaker 2: these things. It was taking up my identity and I
Speaker 2: had to pause, like, you know what, I don't care
Speaker 2: about the ranks. My rank should not be my identity.
Speaker 2: Sometimes our accomplishments end up becoming our identity. The blessing
Speaker 2: that God has given us end up becoming an identity,
Speaker 2: and we need to be careful that we don't go
Speaker 2: into that. The way we say, in the way we boast,
Speaker 2: in the way we portray sometimes it can be evidently
Speaker 2: seen that we're being postful and it's coming from a
Speaker 2: heart of pride instead of coming from a heart that
Speaker 2: wants to testify. So I really challenge you to introspect.
Speaker 2: You know, even as today is ashwaynes Day, we think
Speaker 2: about Jesus, you know, or that when he moved towards Jerusalem,
Speaker 2: we moved towards his ultimate calling. Jesus did not operate
Speaker 2: from a place of pride. He operated from a place
Speaker 2: of humility. He never boasted like there were so many
Speaker 2: chances where when people got hit he could have used
Speaker 2: that to trumpet himself and say, yeah, I got I
Speaker 2: hear this person. What did he do? He told him,
Speaker 2: don't mention about it, keep him mouth shut. Why he
Speaker 2: didn't want to boast. He operated in love, he didn't boast,
Speaker 2: and I challenge each one of us to learn to
Speaker 2: walk in that maturity where we are walking in love
Speaker 2: and not working in pride. Amen, God bless you.
