GOD Can Show Up Even in Your Off-Season | Christian Sermon | John Giftah
Tonight's Episode
Many people believe that GOD only moves when life is “back on track.”When things stabilize. When the season changes. When everything makes sense again. But what if GOD doesn’t wait for your on-season to show up? In today’s episode of Fuel for the Soul with John Giftah, we reflect on the life of Moses and discover a powerful truth: GOD can do significant things even in what feels like an off-season. Moses once lived as a prince in Egypt — the most powerful nation in the world at the time. Everything looked secure. Everything looked settled. But suddenly, his life changed. He fled for his life and ended up in Midian, far from the palace, far from status, and far from what he once knew. Yet, it was in that off-season that Moses:
- got married
- started a family
- found stability
- and was being prepared for GOD’s greater calling
GOD doesn’t need a perfect season to bless you.

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John GIFTA.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for
Speaker 2: the Soul with John Gift of podcast. Is such a
Speaker 2: join honor for me to be with you today as
Speaker 2: I shared another word that I believe is so powerful
Speaker 2: and will be an encouragement for you. If you feel
Speaker 2: like you're in an off season, maybe you're saying John
Speaker 2: on things were working out really fine. In one season,
Speaker 2: things were going okay, there was nothing much. But right
Speaker 2: now I'm in a season where everything is bombarding against me.
Speaker 2: Everything is coming against me, one after another, the blow
Speaker 2: after blow. I'm facing so many challenges at the same time,
Speaker 2: if you feel like you're in a wilderness, every door
Speaker 2: is being shut, you feel like nothing is working out,
Speaker 2: nothing is progressing or moving forward. Your business is just
Speaker 2: not getting ahead, your ministry is not taking off, or
Speaker 2: you're not able to meet the right person in order.
Speaker 2: Maybe there's a child that's off course and something that's
Speaker 2: affecting your health, or a family member who's having some
Speaker 2: challenges today. I want to tell you something. If you
Speaker 2: are in a half season in your life, I want
Speaker 2: you to hold your horses because I want to remind
Speaker 2: you of this world that I shared with you yesterday.
Speaker 2: I really encourage you to go back and check it
Speaker 2: because that was a powerful revelation that really struck me
Speaker 2: from the life of Moses in Exodus chapter three. I
Speaker 2: want to talk about this in particular, if you're in
Speaker 2: a season that you feel like you're in an off season.
Speaker 2: Sometimes we think, like you know what, I'm in an
Speaker 2: off season. You know when when my season changes, when
Speaker 2: things get better, when when things are working you know,
Speaker 2: or looking up, then maybe God can show up in
Speaker 2: my life. Then something can happen. Then I can and
Speaker 2: I need to put certain things off till things get
Speaker 2: better or things is settled down for me. But I
Speaker 2: want to tell you something that we save a God
Speaker 2: who can minister to us or meet us in our
Speaker 2: off season. And one of the things that caught my
Speaker 2: attention about Moses is that I want you to understand
Speaker 2: Moses was in the palace. He was a prince, right
Speaker 2: He was in the He was a prisonce in the palace.
Speaker 2: He grew up in the palace. He knew about the
Speaker 2: protocol of the palace. He moved with the elite, He
Speaker 2: moved with the prince and the princess and the royalty.
Speaker 2: He was He was in the palace, and not for
Speaker 2: one year, not for two years, not for ten years.
Speaker 2: He was there for forty years as a prince. He
Speaker 2: was a prince for around forty years. And now what
Speaker 2: happens because of this mess. He's now running Intermedian. The
Speaker 2: Bible says in Exodus two, if you actually see, the
Speaker 2: Pharaoh got mad at Moses and wanted to kill him.
Speaker 2: So Moses flees into the wilderness, goes to Median. And
Speaker 2: one of the things that really caught my attention was,
Speaker 2: I know, it may be just an abbosard statement. It
Speaker 2: may look like it but it just caught my attention.
Speaker 2: Right now, when you're running, you're running, you're like running
Speaker 2: for your life. You're not going to You're like looking
Speaker 2: after yourself. You do not know what is going to
Speaker 2: happen to you. You do not know what is going on.
Speaker 2: You may be in a situation like like like you're
Speaker 2: so much maybe running in his mind, what am I
Speaker 2: running from? Where am I running too? I was a prince,
Speaker 2: Now what is my new status? Like he was in
Speaker 2: royalty in the most powerful nation in the world of
Speaker 2: that time. Now what is his status? What is going
Speaker 2: to happen? So many things running in his mind. But
Speaker 2: I want you to listen to this carefully, right even
Speaker 2: in the midst of this, In the midst of this,
Speaker 2: he comes to Median, and there is a moment where
Speaker 2: there was the priest of Median, Jettro and his He
Speaker 2: had seven daughters who came to draw water, okay, and
Speaker 2: some shepherds came and chased them away. So Moses jumped
Speaker 2: up and rescued the girls from the shepherds. Then he
Speaker 2: drew water for their flocks. Now think about this, Moses
Speaker 2: needed help. Moses had a lot going on in his mind.
Speaker 2: He did not know what was He did not know
Speaker 2: what was going to happen next. He was a fugitive,
Speaker 2: he was a runaway. He didn't have a place to go.
Speaker 2: He did he needed help. But in the midst of that,
Speaker 2: he helped these girls. In the midst of that, he
Speaker 2: helped strangers. He had a good heart, in the midst
Speaker 2: of his pain. I do not know who needs to
Speaker 2: hear this word. Like, one of the things people tell
Speaker 2: me all the time is John, I know you're going
Speaker 2: through a hard time, but why do you still minister?
Speaker 2: There were I'm telling honestly, Since twenty twenty five, it's
Speaker 2: been one of my hardest years. I've always said this.
Speaker 2: I had a lot of attacks after attacks, one of
Speaker 2: my lowest seasons of my life, you know, a huge
Speaker 2: financial attack, a tremendous pressure. Then I lost my job
Speaker 2: in a layoff, the attacks on the health. There were
Speaker 2: so many different attacks that happened over and over and
Speaker 2: over with no sigh of relief. Right, But what made
Speaker 2: understand I explicitly tell people what happened, what was going on?
Speaker 2: You do not know this, and and and when they
Speaker 2: don't get to know, they're like, oh my gosh, I
Speaker 2: can't believe it because in the midst of all of this,
Speaker 2: I was posting every single day on on the ministry, broadcast,
Speaker 2: on on on on YouTube, on socials. I was consistent
Speaker 2: no matter what there were. There were days I would be,
Speaker 2: you know, like in pain and in the in a
Speaker 2: hospital setting and still be posting because that is consistent.
Speaker 2: I was. I was like, you know what, I may
Speaker 2: be needing help, but I'm still going to do what
Speaker 2: God has called me to do. Moses his calling was
Speaker 2: to bring justice. He saw the injustice happening to his people,
Speaker 2: and that's how he tried to intervene, and he ended
Speaker 2: up killing the Egyptian and he had to run for
Speaker 2: his life. Now you see the parallel here here again,
Speaker 2: he sees injustice being cast he is now he can't
Speaker 2: be quiet, you know what I mean. That's his calling.
Speaker 2: He sees injustice, he goes in. He could have said,
Speaker 2: you know what, I just my life is in pieces
Speaker 2: because I intervened for somebody else to bring justice for them.
Speaker 2: He could have thought like that, but you see, either
Speaker 2: in the midst of the pain that he was in,
Speaker 2: he continued to do what he was called to do
Speaker 2: to bring justice when they when he saw there was injustice,
Speaker 2: and because of that, what happens. He's in the wilderness.
Speaker 2: From being a prince who owned stuff. Now he doesn't
Speaker 2: own even the cattle because all of that belongs to
Speaker 2: his father in law. But one of the things that
Speaker 2: really caught my attention in the scripture is that he uh,
Speaker 2: you know, he gets in touch again. So here's the
Speaker 2: thing I wanted to understand, right, this is a verse
Speaker 2: that really caught my attention. In verse twenty one, Moses
Speaker 2: accepted the invitation. He settled there with them, and in
Speaker 2: verse twenty one it goes on to say, I'm talking
Speaker 2: from the Nulti version. It says in time Real gave
Speaker 2: Moses his daughter Zippora to be his wife. Now, I
Speaker 2: wanted to get this into your spirit. Right, this is
Speaker 2: something that really caught my attention. We'll be like, you
Speaker 2: know what he was. He was like a fugitive. He
Speaker 2: was in his off season. He was in a low moment,
Speaker 2: and we would typically say, come on, let things get
Speaker 2: better and then think about next step, like maybe getting
Speaker 2: the right person coming into your life, or maybe you know,
Speaker 2: elevating a business. So first stabilize your income, then think
Speaker 2: about an external business opportunity or something like that. You
Speaker 2: know what I mean, Like, first get a job and
Speaker 2: then you think of this. You know you you get
Speaker 2: what I'm saying. But here's the thing. God is a
Speaker 2: specialist in showing up in off season when you're not
Speaker 2: supposed to get what you need. Is when God will
Speaker 2: suddenly surprise you with something. People will say, oh, you
Speaker 2: need to first, you know, get a job and then
Speaker 2: you would meet the right person. But what if you're
Speaker 2: in a season where you lost your job, but that
Speaker 2: was the season God allowed you to meet the right person, Like,
Speaker 2: you have no idea how God can work. You have
Speaker 2: no idea how God can turn things around. Maybe you're saying,
Speaker 2: you know, I'm not supposed to be blessed right now.
Speaker 2: I need you know it has to be in a
Speaker 2: later season. But what if God wants to meet you
Speaker 2: off season? What if God wants to surprise you off season.
Speaker 2: If God did it for Moses, God is able to
Speaker 2: do it for you today. I want to believe, decree,
Speaker 2: and declare over each one of you, and that is
Speaker 2: sound of my voice that God is going to intervene
Speaker 2: in your life off season, off the record, and He's
Speaker 2: going to do something that's going to surprise me.
