Speaker 1: and Christian discussions and interviews. You'll be inspired to live
Speaker 1: the life that you were created for. Your host is

Speaker 1: aerospace engineer, life coach, evangelist and founder of John Gifta International.
Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for
Speaker 2: the Soul with John gift of podcast. All through this week,
Speaker 2: we're looking at various lessons that we can take away
Speaker 2: from the life of Elijah revolving around one King seventy nineteen,
Speaker 2: and we're specific also focusing on various aspects that we
Speaker 2: can look at with regard to having the right mental
Speaker 2: health right. Because I want you to understand that it
Speaker 2: just recorded a special episode with Reni Jacob on the
Speaker 2: actual aspects with regard to mental health. I want you
Speaker 2: to stay tuned for it because there's so much to unpack.
Speaker 2: But today we're going to look at some holistic stuff
Speaker 2: that we can learn from the life of Elijah, revolving
Speaker 2: this so that you can have the kind of life
Speaker 2: that God wants you to have. So one of the
Speaker 2: things I want you to understand is that there is
Speaker 2: a moment when Elijah, this mighty prophet who just brought
Speaker 2: fire from heaven, is now on the verge of a
Speaker 2: deep depression. And what I want you to get is
Speaker 2: that there's a moment where there's a threat from the enemy,
Speaker 2: Queen Jezebel, who's sending out a threat to Elijah, saying,
Speaker 2: you know what, by tomorrow, I'm going to make sure
Speaker 2: that you're dead. Right, She sends a threat, and he
Speaker 2: is so scared. And what happens is he gets up.
Speaker 2: He's so scared when you look at verse three, was
Speaker 2: afraid and rose and ran for his life. And he
Speaker 2: came to be Sheba, which belongs to Judah, and left
Speaker 2: a servant there. But he traveled a day's journey into
Speaker 2: the wilderness by himself, and he came down and sat
Speaker 2: down under a juniper tree. Now I wanted to understand
Speaker 2: something very important here, right one of the biggest things
Speaker 2: that you need to pay attention to when you're going
Speaker 2: through life. This may be in a place where you
Speaker 2: are maybe dealing with depression, or maybe it's just a
Speaker 2: practical thing that you need to remember that can prevent
Speaker 2: any form of negativity. It can be a prevention of depression, anxiety,
Speaker 2: wrong thought processes or temptations, or maybe it can be
Speaker 2: even panic attacks, or maybe fear or wrong influences over
Speaker 2: your mind, anything for that matter. The best thing I
Speaker 2: wanted to understand from the life of Elijah is not
Speaker 2: to do what he did when he was in that fear.
Speaker 2: You know what he did. He goes to this place
Speaker 2: called Beesba where he leaves his servant and he goes
Speaker 2: all by himself into the wilderness. Now we're going to
Speaker 2: look at what is the aspect of regard to the
Speaker 2: wilderness in tomorrow's episode. But I want you to understand
Speaker 2: something here. He goes into isolation mode. See, if you
Speaker 2: listen to anybody who teaches on therapy, anybody who is
Speaker 2: into the counseling space, one of the biggest things they
Speaker 2: will tell you to avoid when you are in the
Speaker 2: verge of depression or suicide or on the verge of
Speaker 2: panic attacks or on the worde of fear, or any
Speaker 2: time when you're not in the mental space that your
Speaker 2: need to be is to make sure that you're not
Speaker 2: in isolation, To make sure that you talk to somebody,
Speaker 2: to make sure that you are in the right community,
Speaker 2: to make sure that you are not just by yourself,
Speaker 2: because the minute you are by yourself, that's a very
Speaker 2: bad trap the enemy uses against you. Today, I want
Speaker 2: you to understand when you are in trouble, or when
Speaker 2: you are in that fear, or when you're having this
Speaker 2: approach through life, are you approaching life from a place
Speaker 2: of isolation where you're living like an island where it's
Speaker 2: just you and you, Or are you living from an
Speaker 2: approach where you're living in a community, community of believers,
Speaker 2: community of good people who have your good interest at heart,
Speaker 2: people who can mentor you correct you, show you the
Speaker 2: right way, people who can be there to encourage you,
Speaker 2: support you, stand by you. Because you see, the minute
Speaker 2: you try to live like an island, you can be
Speaker 2: washed away the minute a tsunami of attacks from the
Speaker 2: enemy comes. That is what happened with Elijah. The minute
Speaker 2: he was gripped with that fear. Instead of getting that community,
Speaker 2: what did he do? He got so scared he allowed
Speaker 2: himself to get into that wilderness where he said to
Speaker 2: his servant, you stay here, you don't come with me,
Speaker 2: and he went by himself. And what happened in that process?
Speaker 2: He was lost in isolation. He starts crying to the Lord, enough, Lord,
Speaker 2: take my life. I'm no better than my father's. He's
Speaker 2: in that mode where he's lost it at life. He
Speaker 2: wants to just end his life. Is he he wishes
Speaker 2: his life was over? He was in that suicidal depression.
Speaker 2: See sometimes we look at somebody and say, how can
Speaker 2: this person end their life? How can this person be so.
Speaker 1: Weak?
Speaker 2: How can they not care about their family and this
Speaker 2: end their life? Can I tell you someone take the
Speaker 2: mighty Prophet. Elijah went through that suicidal depression to say
Speaker 2: enough is enough. I want to die. He said, I
Speaker 2: want to die today. I don't know if you're watching, saying,
Speaker 2: you know what, my life is in a very bad place.
Speaker 2: Nothing is working out, nothing is happening, and I think
Speaker 2: I'm not a good Christian because I just feel like
Speaker 2: ending my life. I just feel like I just don't
Speaker 2: have the will to live. Anymore. Don't allow the guilt
Speaker 2: to grip over. You. Don't feel guilty for feeling like
Speaker 2: you don't want to live anymore because the Mighty profit
Speaker 2: Elijah himself went through that. But one of the things
Speaker 2: to look at what allowed him to go through that
Speaker 2: is because instead of going through that place, going through
Speaker 2: that difficult face with the help of community, with the
Speaker 2: help of his close ones who can encourage him and
Speaker 2: build him and support him and stand by him, he
Speaker 2: went all by himself. Today, I want to ask you
Speaker 2: this question. Are you approaching life by yourself? Or are
Speaker 2: you approaching life with the help of God given friends
Speaker 2: and family and community who can actually encourage you, build
Speaker 2: you up, support you, stand by you, and make sure
Speaker 2: that you fulfill the purpose that God has s in
Speaker 2: stuff for you. But if you are living by yourself,
Speaker 2: I want you to be cautious because that is an
Speaker 2: enemy trap through which he will make sure that it's
Speaker 2: all you. You face things alone, you have no strength
Speaker 2: to fight certain things because you need community to stand
Speaker 2: by you at certain points of time, and you need
Speaker 2: to be sure that you know what I'm just not
Speaker 2: going into this wilderness of my mind over and over
Speaker 2: wondering about life. See when when Elijah was feeling like this,
Speaker 2: he said, you know what, I just want to die. No,
Speaker 2: you might have heard this phrase. You know, an idle
Speaker 2: mind is the devil's workshop. But can I tell you
Speaker 2: something when you are by yourself, when you have nobody
Speaker 2: with you, when you are just going into that, into
Speaker 2: that isolation, you know what happens. The enemy is using
Speaker 2: that to make sure that you're just cut off from
Speaker 2: all sources of help that God wants to bring into
Speaker 2: your life. And that can actually prevent you from getting
Speaker 2: the healing and the deliverance and the wholeness that you
Speaker 2: need over your life. God, I want to pray in
Speaker 2: Jesus Name those who attempted to go into the mode
Speaker 2: of isolation because of maybe depression or whatever they're dealing
Speaker 2: with or they're dealt with. I pray that this will
Speaker 2: be a wake up call for them to give a
Speaker 2: call to someone, to send a message to someone, to
Speaker 2: reach out to someone and say hey, I need help,
Speaker 2: I need help, and let help come their way in
Speaker 2: Jesus name, if you want help, if you're in that
Speaker 2: place of desperation, reach out to me through social media
Speaker 2: or any means that you can see through YouTube or
Speaker 2: Facebook or whatever. I want to pray for you and
Speaker 2: stand by you through the season. Well, I want to
Speaker 2: challenge you to leave a comment and share this with
Speaker 2: someone and I'll see you back pretty soon. God bless you.
