Walking in Love – Part 3: True Love Is Demonstrated, Not Just Declared | John Giftah | Christian Sermon
Tonight's Episode
In Part 3 of the Walking in Love series, we explore a powerful truth: True love is not just spoken — it is demonstrated. The Bible reveals that GOD did not simply say He loves us. He showed it.
John 3:16 reminds us that GOD loved the world so much that He gave His Son.
Romans 5:8 tells us that GOD demonstrated His love for us while we were still sinners — CHRIST died for us.
Real love is not just about words, emotions, or intentions.
It is expressed through action, sacrifice, and commitment.
In this episode, you will be challenged to reflect:
Is your love only expressed through words — or is it demonstrated through your life?
This message will help you move from talking about love to living out love daily.

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John GIFTA.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for
Speaker 2: the Soul with John gift of podcast. And I'm so
Speaker 2: glad that you're joining in as we're doing the series
Speaker 2: on how you and I can Walk in Love, because
Speaker 2: as we celebrate Valentine's Day coming up next week, a
Speaker 2: lot of emphasis on the aspect of how do you
Speaker 2: walk in love? It can be love with a partner
Speaker 2: or a spouse, or a family member or maybe a
Speaker 2: colleague or your siblings, or in your church, in your community,
Speaker 2: in your neighborhood, or in your workplace, or in your school,
Speaker 2: or your college, everywhere. You and I are not called
Speaker 2: to live as an island, but we're called to live
Speaker 2: in community, in fellowship. And the most important thing the
Speaker 2: Bible says is that about everything else, love should be
Speaker 2: the foundation. The greatest of these is love. We've been
Speaker 2: talking about various aspects, and today I'm going to talk
Speaker 2: about one important aspect we record to love, and that
Speaker 2: is that a lot of times I've seen this practically,
Speaker 2: and you might have seen this as well, where a
Speaker 2: lot of people, you know, find it so easy to say,
Speaker 2: you know what, I'm there for you, I love you,
Speaker 2: I care about you, I really mean the best for you.
Speaker 2: They seem to speak words that entice you to believe
Speaker 2: that they actually love you, that they really care for you,
Speaker 2: that they have affectionate towards you. But I want to
Speaker 2: remind you of something very very important here that true
Speaker 2: love is not just what you say. True love is
Speaker 2: what you do. Love is not something that can be
Speaker 2: just spoken. It has to be demonstrated. You know the
Speaker 2: popular verse John three sixteen, God so loved the world.
Speaker 2: It doesn't end by just saying that God loves you.
Speaker 2: The Bible doesn't say that God just loves you. It's
Speaker 2: not just God's saying, oh, Jesus saying hey, I love you, dude.
Speaker 2: The Bible says God so loved the world that he
Speaker 2: demonstrated that love by sending his only son, Jesus Christ,
Speaker 2: so that whoever believes in him shall not perish it.
Speaker 2: But I have it anal life. The Bible again says
Speaker 2: in the Book of Romans that God monstrated his love
Speaker 2: that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Speaker 2: He didn't just say I love you. He didn't just
Speaker 2: say I care for you. He didn't just say I'm
Speaker 2: you know, you're so dear to me. He didn't just
Speaker 2: say it. He demonstrated it. It was not just in
Speaker 2: his words, it was in his actions that we know
Speaker 2: that God truly loved us. My question to you today
Speaker 2: is when you say that you love people, When you
Speaker 2: say that you love some people or somebody or you're
Speaker 2: walking in love, my question is is it something that
Speaker 2: you just say or are you actually showing it with
Speaker 2: your words. I think I've shared this several times on
Speaker 2: the podcast or even on YouTube that since last year
Speaker 2: I had a lot of turbulence in my life. A
Speaker 2: lot of things went out of hand and a lot
Speaker 2: of a lot of things just went to a place
Speaker 2: where it went beyond my control. Okay, there was huge
Speaker 2: financial laws and a job loss, and uh, attacks on
Speaker 2: my health and some family members who are unwell, and
Speaker 2: there's there's so much of fun predictability and so many
Speaker 2: attacks after attacks and so many uh you know, like
Speaker 2: abusive words that I had to deal with and had
Speaker 2: a lot of discouragement and a lot of times the
Speaker 2: enemy attacked me, you know with suicidal depression. And I
Speaker 2: had a lot going on since uh with in fact,
Speaker 2: with the February we're finishing. It's it's been a year
Speaker 2: of turbulence for me when it all started. But here's
Speaker 2: the thing I wanted to understand. A lot of times
Speaker 2: people used to say like, you know what, I'm there
Speaker 2: for you. I'm you know, why do you worry? I'm
Speaker 2: there for you. I love you, or I care about you,
Speaker 2: or you know why you wanted I mean, there were
Speaker 2: preachers or pastors who were like, oh, you know, when
Speaker 2: you stap in the ministry, you know you can count
Speaker 2: on me or count on our ministry, or they were
Speaker 2: close friends who said, you know what, I will be
Speaker 2: with you I'm going to be your greatest cheerleader. But
Speaker 2: can I tell you something. When I went through those
Speaker 2: hard times, I realized that ninety nine point nine percent
Speaker 2: of the people who said that they're there for me,
Speaker 2: or they care for me, or they were you know,
Speaker 2: truly loving me or whatever, realized that it was all
Speaker 2: just words that came out of them out where nothing
Speaker 2: turned into works that would actually translate into actually helping
Speaker 2: me in my time of need. The people I least
Speaker 2: expected were the ones who were actually standing by me.
Speaker 2: It was not just words that helped me, because at
Speaker 2: that point I needed actual works of people standing by me,
Speaker 2: supporting and cheering and encouraging. And sometimes there were moments where,
Speaker 2: especially when my account went to zero and I had
Speaker 2: to rebuild from the scratch. At that point, just somebody saying, oh,
Speaker 2: I'm praying for you, or you don't worry, everything will
Speaker 2: be fine was not enough because I needed somebody to
Speaker 2: actually put action behind that action behind those words, to say,
Speaker 2: you know what, I'm helping you financially. I'm supporting you
Speaker 2: at this point because I understand the place you're in
Speaker 2: and you need support. You see, that is so important,
Speaker 2: and that made me realize that you know how many
Speaker 2: people who say that they truly love you actually don't
Speaker 2: care about you because when you hit a rock bottom,
Speaker 2: when you are in troubled waters, are they actually putting
Speaker 2: action behind their words or are they just giving you
Speaker 2: empty words saying, don't worry, everything will be fine. Oh,
Speaker 2: I'm just praying for you, and then they don't care
Speaker 2: to even check up if you're okay. You know that
Speaker 2: is what I want to really challenge each one of
Speaker 2: you today with to think about this. Are you just
Speaker 2: saying that you are working in love? Are you just
Speaker 2: saying some empty words or is it actually translating into action?
Speaker 2: Is your words translating into who works? Because God didn't
Speaker 2: just say he loves you, He showed that he loves you.
Speaker 2: My challenge to each one of you under the sound
Speaker 2: of my voice is that you won't just say that
Speaker 2: you love someone, or you won't just say that you
Speaker 2: care for people, that you actually show it by your action.
Speaker 2: And I believe dicrean Dickla that when you walk in
Speaker 2: that kind of allow I believe that you will actually
Speaker 2: be the one drawing people closer to the Lord. Emmen,
Speaker 2: God bless you.
