Why Didn't Anyone Hear the Chains Fall? Acts 12 Sermon | John Giftah | Biblical Teaching
Tonight's Episode
In this insightful episode from our practical lessons series on Acts 12, we uncover a powerful but often overlooked detail: when Peter’s prison chains fell, none of the sixteen soldiers guarding him heard a thing.Explore why GOD sometimes performs miracles quietly and behind the scenes—not for public applause, but to protect His work from sabotage. Many believers desire visible,-making breakthroughs, yet some of the greatest divine interventions happen silently.
This message encourages you to trust GOD’s timing, stay faithful during seasons when answers seem hidden, and recognize that quiet favor is no less powerful. GOD moves people, opens doors, and promotes His plans subtly to keep His purposes safe until the right moment.
If you are waiting for evidence of GOD’s work in your life, this episode offers hope that silent miracles might already be underway, securing your breakthrough before anyone else notices.

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for
Speaker 2: the Soul with John gift podcasts. All through this week,
Speaker 2: we are looking at various lessons that we can take
Speaker 2: away from the incident recorded in Acts Chapter twelve, from
Speaker 2: Versus six onwards. I had previously done as that we
Speaker 2: can check out from Acts chapter twelve, verses one to five,
Speaker 2: so many things that you can take away from that.
Speaker 2: But today one of the things I wanted to understand
Speaker 2: is that there's an incident where Peter is in a
Speaker 2: very despicable state. He's in a position where he's about
Speaker 2: to be killed as the same way as the apostle James.
Speaker 2: And what I wanted to understand is that we think
Speaker 2: about this aspect of how the church was praying for
Speaker 2: him earnestly. And look at this. The scripture says that
Speaker 2: an angel suddenly came in and what happens. He struck
Speaker 2: him on the side to awaken him and said quick,
Speaker 2: get up and look at verse seven, it says, and
Speaker 2: the chains fell off his wrists. Then the angel told
Speaker 2: him get dressed, put on your sandals, and he did,
Speaker 2: and he started following the angel. Now listen to this.
Speaker 2: There were so many soldiers around. Right. There were two
Speaker 2: soldiers who were adjacent to him when he was chained.
Speaker 2: And you listen to this calvy. The miracle is not
Speaker 2: just the chain falling. But I was thinking about how
Speaker 2: the chains fell and the soldiers were not woken up.
Speaker 2: Have you ever thought about this like the miracle, of
Speaker 2: how God made this miracle in a sound proof manner
Speaker 2: so that the wrong people don't hear him getting the miracle.
Speaker 2: They were still sleeping when the miracle happened. What I
Speaker 2: wanted to understand is that sometimes when God does a
Speaker 2: miracle in her life. He's going to do it in
Speaker 2: a way where no one else can even hear or
Speaker 2: see or know what he's doing. It may look ordinary,
Speaker 2: it may look like nothing is changing. Your life, may
Speaker 2: feel like, oh my goodness, John, like nothing is working out.
Speaker 2: But I wanted to understand other people may not even
Speaker 2: know when you got delivered. They will not even know
Speaker 2: how you got delivered, because God is a special in
Speaker 2: doing miracles in a soundproof setup. Now, for example, I'm
Speaker 2: recording these podcast episodes at a studio. We're doing this
Speaker 2: in a soundproof setup. No one here can hear anything
Speaker 2: from outside, and no one outside can hear what I'm speaking.
Speaker 2: It's a soundproof system. See. I wanted to understand the
Speaker 2: same principle here that when God did the miracle, the
Speaker 2: supernatural aspect of it is not just the chain's falling,
Speaker 2: But the other aspect is that when the chains fell,
Speaker 2: it did not wake up any of the soldiers. The
Speaker 2: soldiers were right there, if you see right there, there
Speaker 2: were always sixteen soldiers guarding this one Peter. I've made
Speaker 2: even a sermon on that, sixteen soldiers for one Peter,
Speaker 2: and not one of them woke up when the chains fell.
Speaker 2: Not one of them woke up when all this was happening.
Speaker 2: You See, guys, you may feel like nothing is happening
Speaker 2: because no one is able to recognize what God is
Speaker 2: doing in your life. Sometimes you feel like, oh, I
Speaker 2: want to see a miracle. I want to see God
Speaker 2: bless me, promote me, elevate me. But no matter what
Speaker 2: I do, I'm not no one is able to recognize
Speaker 2: or nothing is working out in a sense of you know,
Speaker 2: something quantitative like many times you need a proof, right, Like,
Speaker 2: for example, if I'm saying the ministry, for example, since
Speaker 2: my ministry is predominantly online, right for people to know
Speaker 2: or evaluate how this ministry is effective. People want numbers, Right,
Speaker 2: I can come and tell you that you know what
Speaker 2: this is ranking, or you know I'm putting out content
Speaker 2: from the studio and all of these things. But what
Speaker 2: actually makes the difference is when people are able to
Speaker 2: see the numbers, When people are able to see the response,
Speaker 2: the effectiveness, and so on and so forth. Right, So
Speaker 2: look at this, Peter getting this miracle was in a
Speaker 2: silent way. The enemies did not even hear what was happening. See,
Speaker 2: sometimes God does a miracle in such a way where
Speaker 2: you feel like maybe God is not even doing a miracle.
Speaker 2: Like in fact, even Peter thought it was just a vision.
Speaker 2: He didn't even realize what was happening. That's the way
Speaker 2: God does supernatural miracles. Sometimes you may feel like nothing
Speaker 2: is happening. You may feel like nobody is able to
Speaker 2: hear it, nobody is clapping or celebrating with you. But
Speaker 2: it's all for good. Imagine if any of them woke up,
Speaker 2: Peter would have got finished. So the miracle was not
Speaker 2: just the chains falling, but the miracle was also ensuring
Speaker 2: that the miracle happened in a silent, sound proof manner,
Speaker 2: and God is an expert in doing that. Sometimes you
Speaker 2: may feel like nothing is happening because you can't hear it,
Speaker 2: you can't feel it. But today I want to remind
Speaker 2: you the same way, when Peter's chains fell, the soldiers
Speaker 2: did not hear the soldiers when out worken up, when
Speaker 2: your chains fall, the wrong people will not know about it,
Speaker 2: and it's good. Let them not know, let them not
Speaker 2: feel jealous, let them not try to sabotage what God
Speaker 2: wants to do in your life. Praise God that they
Speaker 2: can't hear, and just walk with that saying God, I
Speaker 2: thank you, because them not knowing is actually a blessing
Speaker 2: for me to walk into the freedom and the next
Speaker 2: level that God has in store for me. See, I've
Speaker 2: noticed this in my life where sometimes even when God
Speaker 2: blesses me or elevates or promotes and things like that,
Speaker 2: no matter how much i want to share it with
Speaker 2: certain people, I'm just being in a place where I'm
Speaker 2: not able to do that, Like this circumstance and them,
Speaker 2: you know, walking away. For all of these reasons, I'm
Speaker 2: not able to be as close or to share. Till
Speaker 2: one point, God said, I don't want them to see
Speaker 2: what I'm doing in your life because they don't have
Speaker 2: good intentions. They don't want you to grow, John, So
Speaker 2: you don't have to go and tell them, like, see
Speaker 2: how God has helped you grow. Let when the miracle happens,
Speaker 2: when they see you, you know, elevated and promoted, let
Speaker 2: them see. But I don't want them to sabotage what
Speaker 2: I want to do over your life. So today I
Speaker 2: want you to have that perspective in your life that
Speaker 2: we serve a God who does miracles in a sound
Speaker 2: proof manner, we serve a God who does miracles in
Speaker 2: a way so that the wrong people won't get the notice.
Speaker 2: The wrong people will not be notified. Only you know
Speaker 2: that you got the miracle, you are free, and that
Speaker 2: the right time God will bring the promotion and the
Speaker 2: elevation it needs to be given to you. I really
Speaker 2: to challenge you to share this with someone and leave
Speaker 2: a comment and I will see you back next time.
Speaker 2: God bless you.
